IGMA raffle

Hello!

So, I was contacted by the president of IGMA to see if I wanted to participate in an artistic collaboration with some of the other food artists that are currently in the guild. We are all donating a piece or two and it will be showcased in a super cute pastry shop room box that is going up for grabs in their raffle. I am contributing a couple of cakes and I will be sending them out tomorrow. They are going to their new home and are going to join all the other amazing stuff that is going to be in this unique one of a kind room box.  I have absolutely no idea what the other artists are doing and am so excited to see the final work of art! I am super jealous to all of you who are fortunate enough to go see it in person, really wish I could be there!

Anyhoo, hope you like them!

New Logo Design

Hey everyone! I have been re-working and re-vamping my logo and thought I would post it. The concept for my branding has always been about old glamour.  I am a lover of everything baroque and victorian and wanted to add that beauty to my logo. Although I am focused on getting my dollhouse miniature store online at the moment I do have plans for offering a line of porcelain ball jointed dolls in dollhouse 1:12 scale. Because of this I used my first doll sketch as the basis for this logo. Hopefully the line will be available at the end of this year or the beginning of next year. It is a long and complicated process, but it has been a goal of mine since I was a child and I can't wait to get started on it.

Anyhoo, hope you enjoy my work and thanks for visiting my page!

Miniature Collector Magazine

So I just found out that I was published in Miniature Collector Magazine April 2016. It has always been a dream of mind to have my work published,  I am so elated right now and wanted to share the great news. I am in a little feature article in the magazine about my recent membership into the International Guild of Miniature Artists for 2015. I am feeling so privileged to be mentioned with such talented artists and having this happen has really fueled my desire to try to become the best miniaturist I can possibly be. I have been a dabbler in this art field for a couple of years now and I am really starting to feel that this is what I want to focus most of my time and energy into. Don't get me wrong, I am a creator at heart and love all art forms, painting, sculpting, stained glass, baking, you name it and I want to learn it, but I definitely feel a distinctive pull in my heart to focus mainly on making tiny objects and art. I also just wanted to thank my family and friends for all of their support and kind words and dealing with my craziness when I pull all nighters in a caffeine induced stupor. I am so excited about all of the new acquaintances and amazing artists I have met through IGMA and their kind words and input about my work, and a special thanks to Stan Harrison the Editor of Miniature Collector Magazine for such an amazing opportunity. Thanks everyone you are the best!!!

Royalty chic inspired cakes

Hey guys!

So I recently got inspired by my baby sister to make some miniature 1:12 scale dollhouse cakes with a little dazzle to them. She is a fashionista girly girl and loves all things gold and glittery. Based on her suggestions I played around a little with some royal colors of purple and gold on some miniature cakes. I love experimenting with different styles and although I was hesitant at first, to "add some bling to them", I ended up really liking how they turned out and I hope you enjoy them as well! <3 xoxoxoxo

Chocolate cakes

I just finished some new multi size miniature 1:12 scale cakes. I had a great time making these little dollhouse 1:12 scale miniature cakes. I have had chocolate ornaments on my mind all week, since that is what I am currently working on in my baking and pastry program. It was an interesting transition from making real life chocolate ornamentation for my European cake class, and then trying to attempt using this skill in 1:12 scale! I thought making them in real life was a challenge, but now when I do I make them in class it seems like a breeze compared to making them in miniature!

Hope you enjoy! <3 xoxoxoxo

Winter woodland cakes

I feel like it has finally become winter here in the south. We just had a ton of snow here, which is so strange to me! I have lived in the south for more than a few years and have never seen anything like this here. While I was holed up in my house this weekend I made some simple 1:12 scale dollhouse miniature cakes inspired by all of the winters I used to have. I grew up in New England and have always enjoyed walks in the woods, while snow flurries are flying around, and winter's wonderland envelopes the forests. That was my inspiration for these cakes, and I hope everyone has a magical winter because it looks like all of the snow is already melted here, and I am doubting that we are going to get anymore! <3 xoxoxoxo

80's inspired cakes

Hello everyone!

I just made some 1980's inspired dollhouse 1:12 cakes and wanted to share them with you. Since I am a child of the late 80's - early 90's and figured I would have some fun and make something a little bit sillier than what I normally make for Back to the Futures 30th Anniversary. I had a blast doing them and I watched Back to the Future, Breakfast Club, Labyrinth, and my favorite movie growing up, Legend while I made them. It was great to drive down memory lane and I definitely have some serious fantasy inspiration from the last two. I would love to recreate some scenes from Legend and Labyrinth in miniature, or at least some props used in the movies. Sigh, I guess I will just add them to the ongoing list of amazing things that I hope I will find time to complete one day!

Anyhoo, I hope you enjoy them! <3 xoxoxo
